Brandie Nonnecke, Tanja Aitamurto, and I are organizing a pre-conference for the upcoming ICA 2017 meeting. The event will be dedicated to discussing communication practices, design considerations and socio-technical processes of online engagement in policy ideation, deliberation, and decision-making. There was a workshop on policy crowd-sourcing at CHI last year (co-organized by Tanja) and there is another one planned for the next year’s CSCW (organized by Gilly Leshed, Brian McInnis, and their colleagues). Our goal is to bring this discussion to the communication research community, and to expand it beyond crowd-sourcing.
You can find the full call for papers here and keep in mind that the deadline for submissions is January 18, 2017.
